McLoyd Canyon is located just south of Owl Creek Canyon and is a tributary of Fish Creek Canyon. All three of these canyons empty into Comb Wash on the eastern edge of Cedar Mesa.
This is not an official name of a canyon on USGS topographic maps. It has been assigned by the community and for that reason McLoyd Canyon is also spelled McCloyd, McCloyds, and other variations.
McLoyd Canyon is home to the famous Moon House Ruin and other smaller unnamed ruins. There is an impassible pour-off (37.4304, -109.77695) in the lower half so the bottom end of the canyon has to be accessed from Fish Canyon or by hiking up from Comb Wash Road. There are ruins in lower McLoyd and it can be done as a side trip from the well-known Fish and Owl Canyon Loop.
