Argentine Pass is an old road that was the highest driveable pass in Colorado for many years. Now the east side starting in Georgetown is the only route that can be driven. The west side is a narrow rocky exposed trail that is only a single track suited for hiking, biking, or experienced dirt biking. There is an area at the pass for turning vehicles around and resting before the descent. This is a very steep rugged route that should only be attempted by experienced drivers in capable rigs like a Jeep, 4×4 truck/SUV, ATV/UTV, or other truly 4WD vehicle.
